Blues Unlimited #4 August 1963
This is the fourth issue, August 1963 of Blues Unlimited, the magazine that spearheaded the "Blues Revival" of the 60s. Published in the U.K., the magazine published much of the groundbreaking information now regarded as basic and greatly influenced Blues appreciation until it's demise in the 80s. This is not a reprint or facsimile. This issue features articles on Sam Phillips, Billy Emerson, the recent rediscovery of Mississippi John Hurt, an obituary of the recently deceased Elmore James, a record review of "the new Little Walter single" more record reviews, discographies and pseudonym listing.
The magazine is 18 pages; app. 8" x 12" and held together by 2 staples. The header is printed but the rest of the magazine seems to be typewritten and duplicated by a mimeograph type process. The magazine is in quite good condition, with light to moderate overall wear, especially at the corners. The binding is still tight. Pages are a bit faded and yellowed and very slightly dog eared. There's a small stain on the front page under the "B" in "Blues Unlimited"
