Up for auction is 'Aquarius' by 'Boards Of Canada'; this is an original vinyl EP and not an illegal copy or bootleg.
This is the original black vinyl 7" pressing on 'Skam' from 1998, LONG out of print (OOP) and is reputed to be a very clean pressing with minimal surface noise. Limited to 500 copies, this early example of BoC's released work is one of the most sought-after and collectable electronic music 7" out there right now. Also included is the original paper colour-in insert which contains the vintage BoC esotericism we've all come to expect from the boys. It has not been coloured in of course and is in perfect condition.

The version of 'Aquarius' on this EP has a rawer, less refined sound to it than later versions of the same track. This version of the track could easily be termed a demo version which certainly makes it of interest to collectors; however, the real reason why this EP is so sought-after is the B side track 'Chinook' which is totally exclusive to this EP. As far as BoC tracks are concerned, 'Chinook' is a fast and violent track with thrashy percussion and a dark, brooding bassline; really unlike anything they're released before or after. Now is your chance to fill the gap in your Boards Of Canada collection with this incredibly rare EP.

This vinyl record is in NEAR MINT (NM) condition and has only been played ONCE (from new) for the purpose of archiving lossless audio to my harddrive. I am the original owner of this record from new so I can confirm this. I played it using a 'Project Xpression' turntable mounted with an 'Ortofon' cartridge. Under a bright light source at an angle the playing surface of the vinyl looks perfect and shiny. The record sleeve is in NEAR MINT (NM) condition as well. This sleeve has a very hand-made appearence to it with the front and back labels stuck onto the sleeve with clear-tape. The clear tape affixed to the back over the 'Skam' logo contains braille writing. There are no particularily noticable defects to the sleeve at all. The original inner sleeve (a clear plastic sleeve) is in MINT (M) condition and has only been handled once to remove the vinyl for storage into a superior archival quality record sleeve. The original paper insert is present in MINT (M), untouched condition. This record and all of it's components have been stored upright in a climate controlled room free of dust or moisture so as to remain in perfect condition.

ABOUT THIS RECORD COLLECTION

I have been collecting vinyl records (mostly of electronic and alternative rock genres) for several years now. All records originally purchased were carefully opened with surgical precision to maintain the original shrinkwrap (where present) and each individual component was saved and archived in a controlled environment of regulated temperature and humidity. All components were handled with the utmost care wearing lint-free silk gloves. Original record sleeves (inner and outer) have not been used to store their respective vinyl records; rather, the actual records have been stored in archival quality record sleeves. Thus, the original sleeves can be maintained in perfect condition. Very few of these vinyls have ever been listened to due to the fact that I own and listen to the same albums on CD. If they have been listened to I will note the number of plays from 'new' ('new' as in never played) as well as the equipment used (top-quality, audiophile-grade 'Project Xpression' turntable with 'Ortofon' cartridge) in the 'CONDITION' section.
The extremely high cost of purchasing and maintaining such a collection, as well as the unhealthy fanaticism associated with collecting have led me to this point of selling the most valuable records on eBay. I really do hate to sell this collection, but at this point in my life it is what's best for me; my loss is your gain!
Virtually all records are BRAND NEW and unplayed in MINT (M) condition (unless otherwise stated in the item 'CONDITION') with all original components present from when they were first purchased. If these records have been used or tested then I will note this in the 'CONDITION' section of the item description. Most of these records are immaculate in every sense of the word and I guarantee that even the most discerning record collector will be satisfied as I am probably one the pickiest collectors on the planet. I hope this collection will go to people that will appreciate them as much as I have.
