Bob Dylan 3LP/2CD Box Set from 2013: Another Self Portrait: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 10 - Near Mint Condition EXCEPT LP 1 Has A Major Flaw
I'll get right to it. This is a beautiful looking set that I bought new way back when. I opened it up and put record 1 on the turntable only to discover that the record has a tight edge warp that caused the needle to skip right away. I put it all away and ordered a replacement copy. (I had waited too long before discovering the warp and couldn't return the bad copy for a replacement.) To make the best of the situation, I set the outer slipcase on a shelf for a decoration and I hung LP 1 in its inner sleeve on the wall for another decoration.
But you know what. Aside from that bad business at the beginning of record 1, this is still an awfully nice set. It includes two sealed CDs as a second version of the albums, so the music is all still accessible. Only 2 songs are out of bounds on record 1. The record plays fine if you put the needle down at the beginning of the 2nd song on each side. The sound is good for the balance of record 1 except there is some surface noise/clicks to contend with. It seems that along with the warp, something abrasive was inside the inner sleeve and left some light scuffs/scratches. (Some dust and crap probably infiltrated that inner sleeve during its stint as a wall decoration.) The other 2 LPs play near mint as one would hope. To be on the safe side I have placed all of the LPs into good quality replacement inner sleeves for safety and for shipping outside of their LP jackets.
So if you want a beautiful package at a discounted price because of that problem with record 1, here you go.
Here is a detailed list of conditions for all components.
- The original shrink-wrap hype sticker has been preserved and is included.
- A small two-sided card that was in the set to announce the upcoming 2013 release of the Bob Dylan Complete Album Collection is included.
- The heavy cardboard outer slipcase is in near mint condition except for a tiny amount of wear/small dent at the upper right corner. The backside of the slipcase shows a small manufacturing defect where the paper at the lower left corner had a little fold in it when it was applied to the slipcase.
- The set included 2 CDs as an alternative way of listening to the songs. Those CDs are still sealed.
- The fat 12x12 booklet is in near mint condition.
- For all three of the LP albums included, the LP jackets are in near mint condition.
- For all three of the LP albums included, the stiff inner sleeves are near mint except each has short spots on the seams where record movement caused roughness/breaks. The inners for records 1 and 2 each have one such spot. Record 3's inner has 2. Don't forget that the inner sleeve for record 1 spent time hanging on a wall and therefore there is a tack hole near each corner (not too bad looking though).
- The vinyl for album one has the warp and scuffs previously mentioned. The first song on each side cannot be played without skips. The remainder of the album plays fine with some record noise.
- The vinyl for albums 2 and 3 play near mint with negligible record surface noise as you would expect from new vinyl. The sound is wonderful. Testing these records for this offer was the first time these 2 records were played (and the first time record 1 was played all the way through).
There you go. Record 1 is problematic, but not 100% trash. The rest of the set is beautiful.

I promise to pack your item securely, no matter what it is. Everything I ship gets packed well, so don't worry about a thing. If appropriate I will add insurance coverage and sometimes I will add signature tracking (USA) when your item is shipped. Signature tracking ensures that the postal service doesn't leave your valuable item unattended on your doorstep out in the rain. Signature tracking requires that your package be handed to you (or your agent) directly - after you sign for it. So if you order something rare and/or worth a bit, be prepared to have to accept delivery in person.

When multiple items are shipped together, I can almost always give you a better deal on the shipping cost compared to the individual shipping costs. I promise to give you the best rate possible based on the items purchased and the shipping method required. Be sure to look at all that I offer to see if you can add to your order without significantly increasing shipping charges.
For "Buy It Now" items (most of what I offer), simply add each that you want to your shopping cart. When ready to commit to buying, request a total from me from your cart and I'll send an invoice as soon as I can. Since I'm not a computer and I do other things like sleep and take the dogs for walks, you might not receive an immediate response, but I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you decide to pay for items you want individually instead of using the shopping cart, I might be able to send some money back for a shipping discount. You won't get quite as good of a deal that way though, because I will already have been charged ebay fees on the shipping costs that you paid.
Sometimes combining shipping results in increased packaging material expense. I'm not going to skimp on safe packaging. Some items are not compatible for combined shipping. Combining shipping might require changing the shipping class used. A few items that I offer are not eligible for combined shipping. There will be a note to that effect in description somewhere if that's the case. For international sales, items with "ebay International Standard Delivery" shipping can usually be combined up to $100 value. For international sales, items with ebay's "Global Shipping Program" shipping cannot be discounted easily because ebay does not permit shipping discounts with their "Global Shipping Program."
Of course it is ok to ask about combined shipping costs up front too. I can't always give an exact cost, but I'll do my best to give you a ballpark figure.
I reserve the right to limit the number of items or the total value of items that I'm willing to send in a single package. This is especially true for international orders where postage rates and insurance limitations are limiting factors.
