Hi, PLEASE NOTE the revised, more detailed description of condition.
IMPORTANT: Please note that I will be traveling overseas for an extended period of time from 1/18 onward. If you do not send payment before 1/16, it may be necessary for me to cancel the auction.
INFO: Wow - What a great, great album... Bob Dylan "Blonde on Blonde". 1966 Gatefold cover on Columbia C2L-41.
CONDITION:
LP's - Early stampers! - 2C/3C/4A/2D so the sound quality is superior. Deep groove Columbia monos are great.
That being said, here is a detailed assessment - I always shoot myself in the foot by doing these - because it makes things seem worse than they are in actuality, but I am mostly a record buyer, not a seller, and I know how much I dislike "surprises" and there's lots of them on Ebay aren't there?
So here we go:
1. All sides when viewed under super-bright direct sunlight show the normal sleeve rubbing which won't produce noise. Under more subdued room light they look pretty darn good (2516) to great (2517).
2. The CL 2517 sides are both mostly VG+. Except: there is a feelable scratch on 2517 Side 1, Track 1 "Most Likely, etc.", that clicks a bit for the first half of the track. Not terrible popping, but you do hear it through the music. I don't see any other feelables or major non-feelables on the 2517 sides.
3.The CL 2516 sides have some light surface marks and two or three small needle marks, which I test played and they generally DO NOT produce any major clicking - there is some light surface noise audible between some of the tracks, so it's probably there being masked by the music in some places, but I couldn't hear much. The main feelable mark is in the middle of Side 1 Track 3 "Visions of Johanna". It produces some under-the music ticking which you can hear if you listen very closely, but not at a level that a casual listener would notice IMO. There was one really good click near the middle of the track, though - just to make sure you're awake :)
4. Overall it's a very, very nice non-prefect example which is not collector mint, but short of that I think you'll be very happy with it.
Cover - The Cover is VG/VG+ with no major flaws. Just light ring/edgewear and a small bump on lower right corner visible in pics. Inner sleeves are the rounded transparent plastic type.
