"Very Rare -1A Matrix Mono pressings with first mixes"

This is the original 1966 Canadian pressing of the very first set of mono mixes. Red Columbia "Guaranteed High Fidelity" labels. Inside cover contains the original 9 picture layout with the Claudia Cardinale photo, that was quickly withdrawn in the US.

These are the mixes done immediately after the Nashville sessions, and were apparently not intended for release. These mixes are not available in any other release, vinyl or otherwise.  The most interesting thing about these mixes is that they have much better audio fidelity because they were not over-compressed like the final US mono was.  Also, two tracks are presented in their original form, without the tape splices that forever altered them.  The edits were made by splicing directly into the 4-track session tapes, cutting out and discarding sections, and replacing them with other sections that ultimately became the mono releases for the US and other countries.  This is why the vocal slips on "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands" are only present on this pressing, as they cut them out of the session tape and replaced them with parts of another take after this mix was done.  The major edit to this song occurs when Dylan fumbles the words at the end of the fourth verse, on all other versions (including CD and vinyl remasters), several seconds of another take were spliced in because Dylan loses some of the words on the original tape as heard here. This is the complete, unedited master take of this song, which runs slightly longer on this album than on any other issue of Blonde on Blonde.

Record vinyl graded as: VG+.  Two light marks on Disc 1 Side 1, that do not affect play.  Light spindle marks on labels.  Both discs play clean like NM- records.  These are heavy vinyl discs, each approximately 180 grams. 
Record jacket graded as VG.  Partial seam splits and some ring wear.
