Description
Bob Dylan, Blonde on Blonde on CBS 66012. Original Italian mono copy. This is the very rare first release, with no SIAE logo on the left-hand side of the label. One disk (the one with I Want You and Rainy Day Women as the first cuts) is nice VG with full shine, some light paper scuffs and marks, but plays very, very clean, with a tick audible every revolution for the first 45 seconds or so of Just Like a Woman and most of Pledging My Time. The other disk is VG+, a few light marks, plays great. Laminated cover has an indentation and tear by Dylan's shoulder and some creasing at lower right (see the scan), as well as a one-inch tear along the bottom of the spine, where there is also some missing paper and another one-inch tear that goes into the rear cover. Top of spine has bumping, wear, and a little missing paper that extends a fraction of an inch into both the front and rear covers. There is also general seam wear and a two-inch split along the right-hand edge of the rear pocket. Inside gatefold is fairly clean, just a little light aging and wear, with a faint record impression and a light crease. This is the original nine-picture version, with Claudia Cardinale. In any case, the cover would be easy to replace if you wanted a better one, as the same cover was used for later issues where the records have the SAIE logo. The prize here is the disks, which are very, very rare in this format. Certainly one of the hardest to find of all worldwide original releases of this classic.
GRADING
M- A flawless or nearly flawless record that appears to have seen little or no play.
VG+ Full gloss, some light marks. A very, very attractive record that has seen limited play and has been well cared for.
VG More marks and scratches, will have some surface noise, but still a playable record. Scratches may be fairly numerous, but will be light.
VG- Lots of marks and scratches but no gouges or major problems.
G+ and G Heavy wear and marks, plays through okay.
