This is quintessential Bob Dylan. This album is legendary. And, the one-two punch of Tangled Up In Blue & Simple Twist of Fate are likely the greatest two song succession in folk rock history.
It doesn’t take a genius to appreciate the sheer magnitude of the song writing contained on this album. More rock stars owe their entire careers and success to single cover versions of Dylan songs than can be named. He IS the era. Much like Humphrey Bogart or Miles Davis, Dylan birthed an entire persona and expressed himself with such talent that entire genres of musical history were built upon the bedrock that was and is his career.
The sound produced by Mobile Fidelity here is nothing short of extraordinary. In fact, this album has likely never sounded better.
