You are bidding on a box set of five 12” vinyl LP’s, of Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series, Volumes 1 - 3. This was the first in the “Bootleg Series”, of rare recordings and performances. A stunning collection!

This I know is a highly sought after box-set. As far as I recall, I bought it as soon as it was released, so as far as I know, it’s a first pressing. Please read full description and item condition below.

This is from my own personal collection. It’s time to make some space so sadly I am selling my vinyl collection. Please check out my other items for sale and there are many more to follow, so keep checking back.

Please read the condition of the item carefully below before bidding. Unlike many people selling vinyl on eBay I play every track of every album before listing it. It’s very time consuming, but means I can give an accurate description and an honest opinion of condition. I do not accept returns, in saying that if you receive an album and you feel I have made a genuine mistake and missed a blatant defect, do please contact me.

I am not a record dealer and I am not an expert at grading records. I will give as much     information as possible to assist in identifying particular albums.

CONDITION  (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!)

Record:

(Visually) All ten labels are very clean and undamaged. I can see some very faint spindle marking on sides 8, 9 and 10. The vinyl itself (all sides) has some light finger marking. Overall the vinyl is glossy and looks very good. I can see one long faint hairline surface mark on side 5 (which doesn't seem to have affected the playing) and a couple of very faint marks on sides 7 and 8. On side 6 in the track Wallflower there is a very small scratch, (I didn’t see it until I played the track) probably no bigger than 1mm. Apart from that, all the vinyl looks very good.

(Playing) I have played all 10 sides (a marathon!) and generally the sound quality is excellent. There are no jumps, no skips and no sticking points at all. Bearing in mind some of these tracks are rough cuts, and outtakes, there are various clunks and noises going on in the recordings themselves. However there are a couple of areas which I feel I should point out. The 1mm scratch in Wallflower (side) 6 does cause some clicks. There are 8 or 9 fairly loud clicks here. On side 8 I heard some light surface noise between tracks. Personally I didn’t find it obtrusive. There are two further loud "ish" clicks at the end of Need a Woman (track 1, side 9). I heard a couple of very faint clicks in the track Blind Willie McTell, but to be honest had to play it twice and listen quite hard to hear them. Certainly not obtrusive. That’s about it I think. I have tried to be as accurate and honest as possible and when taken in context that there are 10 sides of vinyl, there are very few faults that I could hear. There may be other very minor isolated light clicks here and there that I didn’t pick up on, but nothing that jumped out at me as being obtrusive. Overall this is a great collection of Bob Dylan’s rarer songs and a very good listen for any Dylan  fan.   

Cover: The outer box is in excellent condition. All sides and corners are Excellent. Front and back clean. I can’t find any defects.

Inner sleeve: Each LP is housed in its own inner sleeve. On one side of each sleeve is a black and white photo of "His Holy Bobness" at different stages of his career, and on the opposite side, a track listing for that specific record. No splits or tears on any of the five sleeves. There is some minor creasing. There is some finger marking, from handling, on each inner sleeve. Not dirty, it’s just the sort of paper that attracts finger marks.

Extras: Original 70 page booklet of text and photos is included and is in excellent condition.

Compared with how others grade LP’s on eBay I would say all in all, this is VGC+ to Excellent condition in all aspects of the vinyl (with exception of the couple of points raised above), the box (maybe even near mint), the inner sleeves and the book.

Describing the condition of items is very subjective. (one man’s treasure is another man’s junk etc). I will always try to be as honest as possible in describing the items. I would rather be honest from the outset, than end up with a disappointed winning bidder. I buy things on eBay as well and would expect the same honesty from others.
