Ever fancied owning a genuine Dylan Philips press from early '63? That's before most folk in the UK had even heard who Dylan was!
A 2nd press of the debut on UK CBS and pressed by Phillips in early 1963. Matrix 1/2. Please note deadwax details are consistent with the early Philips pressings [V 420] etc.. Please note in '63 CBS did not have their own pressing plant in the UK and these Philips copies are amongst the earliest pressings available of Dylan in the UK. Please note also that the labels are consistent with the early Philips design...mentioning '1L/2L' and 'Recording First Published'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a genuine 1st issue cover.
Vinyl [S1 Vg+/Vg-] & [S2 Ex] Sorry for the over elaborate grading, but I'm just trying to get this as accurate as humanly possible! Under close inspection the vinyl exhibits a few light marks either side, some are longish trails, but nothing heavy or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end pans out like this... Side 1 - Deviation in track 1&2 - then [Vg+] . Side 2 - Mostly [Ex] . Ok, so the main thing to be aware of is that the first two tracks on side 1 are sub-par. Both have seen significant use and there is audio issue in both - noticeably. They're listenable, but do expect several bouts of momentary distortion and perhaps even a momentary skip. If, however, you can live with these issues the audio soon improves and plays Vg+ for the remainder of S1. On side 2 it's a clear Ex and plays very very nice indeed with little to complain at. In fact, side 2 plays supremely well....!..Anyway - weight it up in the round. 
Cover (Vg+) Lovely clean front exhibiting nothing more than a couple of creases in that bottom right corner. The rear is exhibiting some ageing, but this is very common on these ultra-early copies. Edge wear is light considering the age of the LP. The spine is mostly intact with one or two small knocks. And the rigidity in the cover is superb.
