Highway 61 Revisited

Beautiful megarare still sealed mono absolute first pressing of this classic Bob Dylan LP (Columbia). This example is may be the ultimate upgrade of this LP. The mint vinyl is still sealed in its original semicircular inner plastic bag. The red 360 Sound labels sparkle underneath the plastic. Visible are the magical matrix numbers in the trail-off area of each side which end in 1-A, indicating the alternate take of Buick 6. Side 1 is XLP110638-1A, Side 2 is XLP110639-1A. Gorgeous near mint cover, still protected in its original shrinkwrap. Shrink has original Like A Rolling Stone sticker. Note that putting the cover in shrink and then sealing the vinyl in plastic is the way Columbia did things back in the mid 60s. (Of course if the cover had been sealed we would never have known if this example indeed included the alternate take.) Please also note that the dark area in the lower right corner is a shadow. The cover is completely snow white. This is a rare chance for the Dylan collector or otherwise shrewd investor. Enjoy! I have had bidders ask why I start all my record auctions at $5.00 with no reserve, even with extremely rare and valuable records. I believe that auctions should be true auctions, with the high bidder always winning the item. Secret reserves make no sense and frustrate buyers, so I don’t use them. And I believe that buyers will understand the value of the records I sell and will bid accordingly. I have sold sealed Beatles butcher LPs and original near mint Elvis Presley Sun 45s this way .... $5.00 opening bid and no reserve!

I've looked at several sources since posting this LP and the majority state that the alternate take is only on stereo copies. Sorry for the confusion.
