I'm 72 years old. My kids don't want any of my vinyl records so I'm selling my collection starting with the bootlegs. More to come so save me as a favorite seller.
Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash "The Nashville Tapes"! The Greatest Singer Songwriters Together On One Album !! Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, two men steeped in the rich traditions of American music, had a friendship that lasted nearly 40 years. But, they only recorded together on one occasion, a two-day session that began on Feb. 17, 1969. But as is usually the case with Dylan's unreleased work, the tracks had long been readily available on bootlegs, before coming out in 2019 as part of Travelin' Thru, the 15th installment of Dylan's Bootleg Series. It's pretty easy to see why Johnston wanted another session. The two go back and forth on some Dylan songs ("Girl," "One Too Many Mornings") a few Cash classics ("Big River," "Ring of Fire" and "I Walk the Line") and a bunch of country and blues standards, like "That's Alright Mama," "Matchbox" and "Careless Love." There's an undeniable charm to hearing this loose and unrehearsed mutual admiration society of two giants. A true gem for any vinyl collector and a must for the Dylan collector.
