Description

Beautiful Bob Dylan vinyl Double LP from 1966 with the Original First press 2 eye Labels.  First press and First edition.  It is a Rare Stereo First edition. This rare Blonde on Blonde album (1966) by Bob Dylan features a gatefold cover with two women in the inner photos, specifically an uncredited picture of Italian actress Claudia Cardinale. This first-press, withdrawn edition (Columbia C2S 841 Stereo) was altered around 1968, replacing the photos due to lack of permission. 

Key Details of the Rare Version: 

  • Unique Feature: The original inner gatefold contains nine photos, including on the right side the gatefold, one of actress Claudia Cardinale (larger picture)  and another (unidentified) woman (upper rt hand corner)
  • Withdrawal Reason: The image of Claudia Cardinale was removed from subsequent pressings because the photographer, Jerry Schatzberg, did not have permission to use it.
  • Value: These first pressings, first editions are highly sought after by collectors. 

The revised version, released in late 1966 or 1968, removed both photos of the women and enlarged a single photo of Bob Dylan.
