Bob Dylan MONO WLP 1965 Bringing It All Back Home PROMO w HYPE & TIMING STRIP VG++

I usually get the most requests to test-play white label promos.  I have a friend who lets me do that at his convenience, and so I did play this, The Who WLP and the Pink Floyd Commercial copy LPs.  Reports are on each respective auction.

Impressive playback.  Side 1 plays back VG++ with occasional static tics.  Side 2 plays back nearly the same, with the exception of 5 rotations in “It’s Alright, Ma” that pop about halfway through.  Silent bands on both sides are very silent and silky quiet.  Quiet passages aren’t perfect, but they’re very, very good.

Vinyl--- Side 1 is visually VG+.  There are a few extremely light scratches that are undetectable by your stylus.  Side 2 is visually NM.  Looks nearly unplayed.  This is a very handsome piece of vinyl.  When you see it in your hands, you will curse softly to yourself.

Plates--- 1D/ 1B.

Cover--- VG.  Moderate to heavy dirtwear on both sides.  The word, “What” written in blue ballpoint on the back cover.  Top and bottom seams are sturdy and strong.  Spine is weak and center slick is worn off, but spine is not split.  Bottom left corner has been slightly pet-chewed.

Hype Sticker--- Moderate dirtwear, purple lettering.

Timing Strip--- Light to moderate dirtwear.  Left side was affected a little by the pet chew. 

Labels--- Both labels are VG++. All nice and white, with the exceptions of some very light spindle marks, both sides.

Inner Sleeve--- Issued with a generic white inner sleeve with the die-cut holes for the labels to show.  NO SPLITS.

You’re never going to find one of these promos in this nice condition.  Every once in a great while, one gets listed in VG condition or worse.  This vinyl is a half-step below cherry.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
