Bob Dylan – New Morning, 1970 CBS Test Pressing LP (S 69001).
I ended the previous listing of this LP so that I could add some more information. PLEASE READ THIS REVISED DESCRIPTION. This is a decent example of a Test Pressing of the LP New Morning by Bob Dylan. It was released on the CBS label in 1970 – S 69001. It has white CBS Test Pressing labels on each side with the words “Side 1” and “Side 2” hand-written. The matrix numbers are S 69001-A1 / S 69001-B1.The record is mainly in EX condition with one slight problem which I must confess to completely missing when I first typed this description. On the last track on the first side - If Dogs Run Free - there are three small perfectly circular marks. They are exactly the same and they are exactly the same distance from each other, (like three points of a triangle). I have never seen marks like them but they must somehow have been caused on a turntable as they are not accidental 'scratches' or 'scuffs'. I have taken a picture of one of the marks. They are NOT scratches - but equally are not 'scuffs' either. If anyone went out of their way to try and make them / recreate them it would be impossible! When played, for just under a minute of the playing time on that track there are just very quiet background 'ticks'. Again - I must stress that they are not scratches. If anything, the surface is very slightly raised on the marks. There is just two or three slightly louder 'ticks' just before the end of that minute.
The LP has the regular tracks on each side. Side One – If Not For You – Day of the Lodusts – Time Passes Slowly – Went to See the Gypsy – Winterlude – If Dogs Run Free. Side Two – New Morning – Sign on the Window – One More Weekend – The Man in Me – Tree Angels – Father of Night. The plain white cover it is in has the number S 64087 A/B written in the top left corner, which corresponds to a Santana LP, but I guess it was just lying about and this one needed a cover to be put into. There is nothing else in the cover - no paperwork or track listing or anything like that.
I bought this LP from a lady in her 70s who used to work as a P.A. to a ‘Bigwig’ at CBS Records in around 1969-1971. She had nothing to do with the musicians or the recording process and told me that she wasn’t actually that interested. Sometimes people would give her the latest LP and urge her to give it a listen at home. Sometimes she would listen – often she would not. Annoyingly – she did not have all that many as usually she said no!! I bought a few LPs and quite a pile of Demo singles from her and although a handful showed signs of use, most did not. They simply came home and were put in a box with all the others. They have moved house three times and been in the attic and a variety of cupboards and finally she happened to spot my advert in the local magazine and gave me a call. This looks to be one that got one or two listens at most and was never touched again!It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing this item to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the auction to help clarify identification or condition, as I may inadvertently omit information that you as a collector feel is important.
If after you receive the item there is any problem at all please let me know BEFORE leaving feedback or leaving a low Item As Described rating. If you do not let me know of a problem I have no way of knowing what may have been wrong and I really do want to sort it out.

CONDITION. The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old. Some are older and some may be a few years younger. I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the 'used' box as even where an item is 'perfect', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!
ALL of my AUCTION ITEMS are now listed with basic / second class POSTAGE INCLUDED in the UK.
Despite the Free P&P notice shown on this listing it is not actually free to post of course! I have to pay to post them and each week / month / year I pay many thousands of pounds to my local post office. But for UK bidders the price you see at the end of the auction is the total price you pay. If by some remote chance anyone out there - including the Bods at eBay who came up with the Free P&P notice - can tell me where you really can post items for free I would really LOVE to know.
DELIVERY TIMES. Although I have ticked the Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard option, please note that this service is reliable and often is unexpectedly fast. Many customers receive their item within 48-60 hours of paying, and so please disregard the 'estimated delivery time' stated near the top of this page - which I have no control over.

Upate - April 2015 - Each year at this time the Royal Mail increases its prices. I have had to increase the cost of a few items by a small amount. BUT - new Large Letter rate means that I have been able to reduce prices for the majority of the items that I sell.

TRACKING NUMBER. If an item sells for more than £40, (or for a package that has a total value of more than £40) it will need to be sent with a Tracking Number - the Royal Mail's International Tracked service. This costs an additional £5 and that price will be added so that both you - the Buyer - and myself are covered under the buyer protection policy.
PACKAGING. Please note that all of my items are well-packed in either board-backed enveloples, thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper. I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials - everything is included in the final price. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.

OVERSEAS BIDDERS - Payment is to be made in GB Pounds, as the item is listed in pounds. Please use PayPal via the link on the completed auction page. If you do not use PayPal and want to mail payment you MUST contact me before bidding so so we can agree the payment method in advance.
PayPal e-cheque Payments. Please note that I will only send your item out once the payment has cleared. In the past I have sent them straight away with no problem but in November 2014 I have had two 'bounce' in one week and from now on I will follow the PayPal instruction not to send the item until I am notified that is OK to do so.
