Description
Okay, as much as I hate to part with this, here goes.
This is Bob Dylan's ,self-titled, first album, on the Columbia six eye label, first pressing.
There is a interesting story on a previously listed copy of this ( ebay #140088179542), that says they had met a guy named Marc, who was working as a messenger for Columbia Records in N.Y.C. at the time this was released( Dylan was around 18-19 years old). This person said he hand delivered a production order from John Hammond Sr. himself, for 500 Stereo and 3000 mono copies of this album, Those 500 copies in stereo were supposedly all that were ever run on this six eye label, shortly after the label was changed to, two eye 360 stereo.
The record people who sold that copy guessed that perhaps as few as 50 copies only, may have survived. A interesting story, and if true, would make this a very rare record indeed. Check the rest of the story out in completed sales.
That perticular copy, although it was stone mint , went for over 1800 dollars, two more have since sold in lesser condition for over 500 dollars.
This record is in a strong VG+ condition. No seam splits, tape ,stickers, writing on the cover. Record is glossy with only a very few, very, very light scuffs/scratches. Nothing that effects the playing. Plays great. These are very mild and are just enough to keep this from otherwise being a NM- record. Labels are clean and near perfect. Also has what probably could be the original inner sleeve (Columbia).
You will be very pleased with this record and I am reluctant to part with it. Good luck bidding. If you have additional questions in regard to this record , please feel free to ask and I can send more pictures if necessary.
