Description
I'm 73 years old. My kids don't want any of my vinyl records so I'm selling my collection starting with the bootlegs. More to come so save me as a favorite seller.
One of the great atypical bootlegs of the early ‘70’s from a plethora of often disparate and unaligned sources. Viewed with hindsight, it’s easy to criticize the style of these early ‘70’s issues, but, in the situation and context of the time of their release they were valid (and wholeheartedly enjoyed by many) so perhaps it’s wrong to over criticize from the standpoint we now have of better quality production, tapes and organization. One thing that is for certain is that many will remain famous (if that’s the right word) long after better, newer releases are forgotten. SOURCES: (a)Gleason’ Home Tape, East Orange NJ, Feb - March ‘61 (b) Minneapolis Hotel Tape, 22 Dec ‘61 (c) Witmark Studios, NY, ‘62 - ‘64 (d) Columbia Studio A, NY, 12 Aug ‘63 (e) Columbia Studio A, Nashville, early May ‘69 (f) Isle Of Wight, 31 Aug ‘69 (g) Earl Scruggs TV Documentary, Dec ‘70 or Jan ‘71 (h) Blue Rock Studios, NY, 4 Nov ‘71.Columbia single.
