Original Columbia Records promotional “Demonstration Not For Sale” issue of Bob Dylan’s debut album released in March, 1962. 1st print cardboard cover contains a silver-foil “A New Star On Columbia Records” round hype sticker on the front. The back cover contains a “Demonstration Not For Sale” red rubber ink stamp and the “Produced by John Hammond” credit. Original 1st print Columbia Records 6-eye red 2.75” pressing ring CS-8579 catalog number commercial stock labels with a “For Demonstration Use Only” sticker affixed to the Side 2 label. Original Columbia Records Terre Haute 1st US Stereo pressing with the very early 1st -1E / -1F matrix numbers and 1 / 1 mother stampers in the runout grooves. Side 1 – XSM-55621-1E C I T / Side 2 – XSM-55622-1F B I T. This promotional album comes with the original Columbia Records “The Sound of Songs…” inner sleeve.

The very clean cover with a beautiful gloss on the front and no soiling on the back is graded as Near Mint Minus. The bottom left corner only has a very light push-in. The cover doesn’t have any ring wear, writing, soiling, splits, scuffs or wear. The sturdy spine contains a fully readable text. We grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus. It retains its magnificent factory gloss only having some very light non-feelable surface hairlines. Side 2 has a series of very light non-feelable scuffs from the inner sleeve which don’t affect the playback in any way. The vivid red 6-eye Columbia Records labels are in stunning Near Mint condition, very clean without having any scuffs or wear. The original inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition without having any splits or tears. The album sounds great only having some light occasional static which most likely will go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
