"Zimmerman Ten of Swords"  (1985)

This legendary and massive 10 LP box set from 1985 has been out of print for decades and has become far more scarce than it was even just a few years ago.  I purchased this from it's original owner who said he only played each record once to record them onto tape and then put the collection away until he decided to sell it.  I also played each record once (except for Record 10, the 1966 concert record, which I didn't need) to record onto CD.  (I used a Shure M97xE stylus with the tracking force set to 1.4 grams.)  This is a very rare and desirable set which is as close to being unplayed as you are likely to find.  Each record comes in it's correct original plain inner sleeve (rounded edges for Records 1-6, square edges for Records 7-10).


Vinyl

I will grade each record individually.

Record 1  NM (no marks)

Record 2  NM / NM- (one VERY light surface mark on Side 4)

Record 3  NM (no marks)

Record 4  NM- / NM (one VERY light surface mark on Side 7)

Record 5  NM (no marks)

Record 6  NM- (each side has one VERY light surface mark)

Record 7  EX / NM- (Side 13 has a few light surface marks and there are some clicks and surface noise at the beginning of the first song on that side.  I'm not sure if this is a pressing flaw or if the noise was on the original source material.  Side 14 has only one VERY light surface mark.)

Record 8  EX+ / NM (Side 15 has two VERY light surface marks and a superficial scuffs, neither of which causes any playback issues.  However, I did notice some unrelated surface noise on the first song on this side when I play-tested it.  Again, I think is from the source material as only the first song is affected, the other tracks play great.  Side 16 has no marks)

Record 9  NM (no marks)

Record 10  NM / EX+ (Side 20 has a few VERY light surface marks)

Please note that the sides I graded as less than NM are still VERY clean and the surface marks I mention are only noticeable when you're looking under a direct light.  Also, the white "spot" on the record in picture 3 is just camera glare.  There isn't a white spot on the vinyl.

Box

The front of the box has some light storage wear, but no real damage to speak of.  All the corners are intact.  The back of the box also looks clean except for some light damage on the bottom right corner (it looks like an indentation with some paper loss at the edges) and also an indentation at the top-left side, about two inches from the edge and some wear at the center of the top edge.  I don't find these flaws to be very distracting, but please look closely at the pictures so you can judge for yourself.

Booklet

The original booklet is included and is in great condition with no damage.

Domestic Postage - This will be sent at cost via either Media Mail or Priority Mail.  PLEASE NOTE, due to the high value of this item, it must be shipped with insurance.  The cost of insurance varies depending on the final value of the auction, so I will inform the high bidder of the cost on the invoice.

International Postage - Varies by location.  PLEASE NOTE, due to the high value of this item, it must be shipped with Insurance via International Priority Mail.  The cost of insurance varies depending on the final value of the auction, so I will inform the high bidder of the cost on the invoice.  Multiple purchases will be shipped together at cost.  I pack well, so I cannot be held responsible if the postal service damages an uninsured item.  Due to some bad experiences last year, I can only ship to Italy or Russia using Registered Mail.  If you are from one of these countries and need a shipping quote, please email me before bidding.

Grading

All grading is done visually.  If you need me to play-test a specific track, please email me.  I try to grade conservatively in the hopes that what you receive will meet (or hopefully exceed) your expectations.  I use the following grades:

NM, EX, VG, G.  A + (plus) after the grade signifies slightly better condition than the grade and a - (minus) signifies slightly worse condition than the grade.  I try to include a more detailed description after the grades, so please be sure to read that section carefully to get a better idea of the condition of the item.


Returns

I try to be very thorough in my descriptions, but if you find a record to not be as described, I will accept returns up to 7 days after delivery.  Please contact me first and let me know the reason for the return.  Refunds given only on the cost of the item, not on shipping charges.
