Before the record labelscatalogued, curated and released the legendary Basement Tapes – the musicrecorded by Bob Dylan and The Band before they were The Band – people somehowgot access to some low-quality tapes and made bootleg vinyl LPs. The world – atleast the world I lived in – was fascinated and curious about what Dylan hadbeen doing in the year and a half since Blonde on Blonde had been released. Atthe time, these shadowy albums were the only way we young fanatics could hearthe secret music. I literally bought this album from the trunk of some guy’scar. The sound quality is what it is, but the record itself is in Very Goodcondition – there is one pop for several revolutions during the songIndependence Day.
