1975 Bob Marley, Reel-To-Reel, Radio Promotion Tape, Ultra Rare
This item I have for sale is a rare original 1975 Bob Marley Reel to Reel promo tape which I purchased off a record company in the USA.
The reggae track which is on this tape is - Rastaman (Positive Vibration).
This particular Bob Marley Reel to Reel was originally given to a radio station for air play by Island records to promote the release of the Rastaman Vibration album.
The album was later released in 1976 and was a great success in the UK/USA. Very few of these promo tapes still exist today due to damage and loss over the years, making this Reel to Reel a true surviver.
The tape and box are both in fantastic condition with the exception of a bit of yellowing to the box due to age (I have since sealed it in plastic).
In all the time I have been a member on Ebay I have never seen a Bob Marley promotion tape of this quality, let alone a Bob Marley Reel to Reel at all.
I have had two outside offers for this tape and one of them was from a music memorabilia museum.

Music History
Rastaman Vibration is a roots reggae album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released on April 30, 1976. The album was a great success in the USA, becoming the first (and only) Bob Marley release to reach the top ten on the Billboard 200 charts (peaking at No. 8), in addition to releasing Marley's most popular US single ("Roots, Rock, Reggae" was the only Bob Marley single to reach the Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at No. 51). Synthesizers are featured prominently on this album, adding a breezy embellishment to otherwise hard-driving songs with strong elements of rock guitar. This is one of the three Wailers solo albums released in 1976, along with Bunny Wailer's album Blackheart Man and Peter Tosh's Legalize It.
Reel To Reel History
The reel-to-reel format was used in the very earliest tape recorders, including the pioneering German Magnetophon machines of the 1930s. Originally, this format had no name, since all forms of magnetic tape recorders used it. The name arose only with the need to distinguish it from the several kinds of tape cartridges or cassettes which were introduced in the early 1960s[citation needed].
Reel-to-reel tape was also used in early tape drives for data storage on mainframe computers, video tape recorder (VTR) machines, and high quality analog audio recorders have been in use from as early as the early 1940s, up until modern days. Studer, Stellavox and Denon used to produce reel to reel tape recorders still in the 1990s, but currently only Nagra, Otari and Mechlabor manufacture analog reel-to-reel recorders.
