An exceptional 1978 North American retail repress that captures the high-fidelity peak of the Island and Warner Bros. distribution partnership. Sourced from premium analog master tapes, both sides feature the definitive stamped "STERLING" signature of New York’s legendary Sterling Sound studio, paired with the "—◁" rifle symbol marking a crisp pressing from the Capitol Records plant in Winchester, Virginia. Side B carries a fascinating production artifact with the UK "ILPS-9" catalog prefix crossed out by a factory technician to correct the US formatting mistake. The vinyl features the distinct Winchester label layout with the artist name left-aligned below the spindle hole and no address on the rim text. This beautifully preserved copy is housed in its original, updated-address Warner Bros. picture sleeve listing the 3 East 54th Street New York office, complete with the rare 1978 illustrated inner hype sleeve showcasing contemporary label artists like Ultravox and Max Romeo. Upgraded with an aftermarket archival Japanese Nagaoka anti-static insert to completely eliminate paper scuffs and friction, this complete all-analog package delivers a punchy, warm, and authentic roots reggae listening experience.
