Original UK Tuff Gong/Island black label stereo press.

The eleventh studio album from Bob Marley released in October 1979 and recorded in January to February at the Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica. The album was recorded in the aftermath of the highly successful 'Babylon By Bus' album & world tour of 1978 and at a time when his illness was beginning to get worse. It is a more overtly political album than any of his previous recordings and in April 1980 he was invited to perform in Zimbabwe at the Independence Day celebrations.

This is the original issue with the black Tuff Gong/Island labels, the lyric inner sleeve, with the earliest A-1U B-1U matrices and 5-MH 2-T mother stampers of the first press!
  The UK printed glossy sleeve is intact and in EX condition with some light corner/edge wear and very light storage rubbing on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable. The Lyric inner is intact in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of light sleeve removal hairlines and one or two faint needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on either side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9542, A-1U stamper 5-MH, B-1U stamper 2-T. This is one of the early copies of the first pressing of the original 1979 UK stereo issue of this album!
