Bob Marley & The Wailers– ‘Send Me That Love’ / ‘Love Light’ – Tuff Gong (Jamaica)

One of Bob Marley’s most gorgeous and original recordings. A minor key slow waltz, with a heartfelt lead and stunning back-up vocals. Flip is ‘Love Light,’ which is nice, too though not in the same league at all.

Condition: This looks worn, and it is worn. I’d rate it a weak VG at best. Still, if you listen, it plays surprisingly well. There are clicks, and some very slight distortion during one or two loud moments (this may, in fact, be inherent in the pressing) but there are no serious scratches and absolutely no skipping. Listen to the snippets and judge for yourself. There’s been no equalisation of the sound at all, what you hear is what you get (though please note that the slight hum on some of my sound clips comes from my turntable’s shaky Earth connection). The labels are worn but legible (please see scans).

Sound surprisingly good, don’t they? Starting this auction at a low price. A chance to get a rare record at a fraction of what a mint copy would fetch (and mint copies are scarce, even at a price).
