Description
A lovely clean copy of the first Wailers album to appear on the Island label – original ‘pink rim’ label and ‘Zippo lighter’ sleeve (ILPS 9241, released 1973)
It has the following matrix numbers:
Side 1: ILPS 9241 A-3U (scratched out BML 2001 A-3U)
Side 2: ILPS 9241 B-4U (scratched out BML 2001 B-4U)
VINYL: The vinyl looks great and has retained its original high sheen. Owned by my brother since first purchase, it has been well cared for. Under bright light, just hairlines and fine marks are visible. There really is minimal noise and crackle, which can be heard only between tracks. Nothing detracts from the music with a solid and clear response across the range. This is a superb example and I would grade both sides as easily Excellent (Ex) with most tracks grading higher than this.
LABELS: The labels are near perfect with no damage, writing or stickers.
SLEEVE: The sleeve is amongst the best condition that I have seen for this album – being particularly vulnerable because of the ‘hinge’ and unlaminated cover. There is some wear and tearing around the hinge (see picture) but the ‘lighter’ opens and closes smoothly. Some wear around the edges but overall in very good (VG) condition.
INNER SLEEVE: The original black inner with trimmed corners is in Excellent (EX) condition.

POSTAGE & PACKING
The record will be carefully packaged to ensure that it survives the journey. In this case the vinyl will be posted in the sleeve, to ensure no damage by the hinge. It will be sealed in an inner plastic cover and protected with rigid cardboard stiffeners. It will be posted requiring signature on delivery. Insurance can be arranged on request.
Postage to Europe will cost £9.95. Elsewhere in the world will cost £13.45.
