In this concept album, Bobbie Gentry followed up her big hit "Ode to Billie Joe" with songs about life in the modern South as well as her upbringing in Mississippi. Full of songs which speak to the culture of the twentieth century South, this record is a prize for any collector. The timelessness of the album has only been further reinforced with the release of Mercury Rev's cover of the album, along with guest vocalists like Lucinda Williams and Nora Jones. This is a record not to be missed. Sleeve is in excellent condition aside from a nick in the lower left-hand corner, record itself is in very good condition with no playback issues and minimal noise.
