. Condition of this record:  Nice sheen!  Looks unplayed!  Visually NM and no writing at all on the labels.  Very nice and RARE!

This white label promo is one of the hardest singles to find from "The Dream Girls" featuring Bobbie Smith on lead vocal (though she's not billed yet as the leader of the group until the next Bigtop single).  This record here features a soulful doo-wop -ish A-side "Don't Break My Heart" with the B-side "I Could Write A Book" being the very first song published and released by songwriter Maron "Robert" McKenzie who would later co-write a few big hits with Del Shannon including "Little Town Flirt" and "Two Kind of Teardrops."  GREAT GIRL GROUP that were knock-outs from 1960 Detroit and should have been major stars a la The Marvelettes or The Supremes.  (If they would have been signed to Motown they probably would have been!)  Lead singer on this record has a great Mary Wells -type vocal.
