Rare orig. Bobby Hughes “Memories” LP on the fabled Peon Productions label from Georgia. This LP was found with the Harley Farquart Express 45 tucked inside and I then realized that Bobby Hughes is the singer on that killer 45 and it’s gotta be the same backing band. Also “The Snake” is the same exact take that’s on the flip of the Harley 45 and is the last track on this long player. About the LP, consists of an amazing country-funk comp worthy handful of songs- starting with the first cut, my favorite “Little Ole’ Farm.” A few Elvis-y country tinged songs that are forgettable but fun none the least. “Redneck” that ends side 1 sounds just like something from a LITA compilation. Side 2 has a cool Spanish guitar laden version of Summer Wine, and a piano rollickin’ paced take of Promised Land. It closes with a kickass drum fuzz wah-wah guitar (Travis Wammack) soulful, funky version of the Al Wilson cut “the Snake.” Condition of vinyl is M- unplayed until I put the needle to it. Cover has some general wear but nothing major. Top left corner crease, snag and paper stains on back- pretty natural.
