Description
Original stereo repress of Pachanga Y Cha Cha Cha by Bobby Montez, released in 1962 on World Pacific Records (1804). A vibrant Latin jazz gem showcasing Montez’s mastery on vibraphone alongside a killer West Coast ensemble.
This highly percussive, rhythm-forward set blends mambo, pachanga, cha-cha-cha, and descarga with sophisticated jazz textures. Featuring standout cuts written by both Bobby Montez and Tito Puente, as well as a unique Latin-jazz rendition of Blue Moon. Musicians include Ruben Provencio on bass, Mike Gutierrez on timbales, and Edward Talamantes on both congas and bongos.
A sought-after release for collectors of early ’60s Latin fusion, West Coast Latin jazz, and Afro-Cuban rarities pressed in stereo.
