Description

Here is an EX/EX copy of the complete Mefistofele, as composed by Arrigo Boito. It is of course based on Goethe's Faust and was first performed at La Scala in 1868. This contemporary version is conducted by Tullio Serafin directing the orchestra and chorus of the Academia Di Santa Cecilia from Rome.

Soloists include: Cesare Siepi (Mefistofele); Mario Del Monaco (Faust); and Renata Tebaldi (Margherita).

Here is the pressing information, for this earlier press. All records have the deep groove labels, and are numbered ZAL 4187-4192. All sides save for Side 3 are 1E; Side 3 is 1K.
