The Victor Black Label Discography: 22000, 23000, 24000, V-38000, V-38500, and V-40000 Series
By John R. Bolig.

Covering 1929–1935, this special combined volume details some of rarest and most sought-after Victor records.

Like all titles in the series, this one is compiled from the original RCA, Victor, and Gramophone Co. files, combined with careful inspection of the original catalogs and discs.

In 1929, the entire 23000 series (from 23000 to 23999) was reserved for a special purpose, which will be detailed in the introduction. As a result, the sequence of popular record releases jumped directly from the 22000 series to the 24000 series. These records are described in Section One of this book. Mr. Nauck suggested this approach as the best way to account for the Victor record catalog's progression between 1929 and 1934.
