Such a unusual and AMAZING record!! This is the story (or Ballad) of Derrick Gordon. Dr. Albert L. Fann was the man behind the Higher Mind Institute and this record, which is being auctioned.
The record was made as part of fundraising efforts for Derrick Gordon who suffered from heart disease. The composer, Richard Wes Blackman, and the rest of the Higher Minds were all members of Fann’s Higher Mind Institute. I have no idea what ever happened to Derrick Gordon, but this record is NUTS … everything from the packaging, to the insane production of Richard Wes Blackman, to Fann’s narration on the vocal version blew me away..
