Boy Sets Fire / Jazz Man's Needle 12" 90s hardcore emo - This Crying This Screaming - Jazz Man's Needle - Conquer The World Records / Cascade records -- This record was handscreened on the back of other record jackets, this one being Empathy. It was was the epitome of DIY as that reflected the bands attitudes or so I thought at the time. We pressed some on Red Vinyl I think 250 then the rest on black vinyl. There were only 1,100 copies made total due to the relationship breakdown between me and the band. This one has the insert as well. The recording on this album is a completely different mix than the later released BSF CD version of these songs. This record mostly remembered for BSF groundbreaking influence on the emo and hardcore style of the time. They were one of the first bands to incorporate melodic singing with hardcore yelling or screaming. To my credit that descision to sign and make this band include the song Vehicle as the first song changed the lineage of the development of the genre for decades to come. At least I think so. Or maybe it was just something cool I thought of one day driving around through Royal Oak and nothing more. Jazz Man's Needle was a DC inspired diy band which heavily drew upon dischord and ebullition style of emo core with a honest appreciattion for improvasational jazz. The cover of the record as i remember being told by the drummer was of Chet Baker a trumpet player. Not easily found as everyone who has it hoards it like gold.
