Brahms Symphony 1 Kubelik UK Decca SXL 2013
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Rafael Kubelik performs Brahms’ “Symphony No. 1”. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2013 stampers 1K/1K), the labels have a full frequency stereo sound fatband and ffss logo, Original Recording by… at 10 o clock and a groove. The record has a couple of surface scuffs that do not sound, and a scratch at the start of side one causes some crackle and a click for about 10 revolutions. Otherwise it is of very good appearance, and plays and sounds superb (Stunning recording) with consistent surface noise. The cover has rubbed with a ring, and there is a tear right across the cover near the bottom. The rear cover foldovers have cut-outs and a blue ffss border. Payment by credit card or Paypal is preferred – direct debit available to Australian buyers and most of the bottom foldover has been torn off. The FFSS inner bag is excellent.
