Brahms: Sonata No.1 in G Major,  for Violin and Piano, Op. 78

Adolf Busch, violin; Rudolf Serkin, piano

Victor Musical Masterpiece Album M-121 (4-12" early gold red

seal discs 7487/9. A mid-1930s edition on ultra quiet surfaces.

Their Victor debut album. Gorgeous performance by the sonata team

that made a series of great performances in the 1930. Companion to

their Brahms: Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Op100 offered

elsewhere on this list. 1936 lyre album

From the private collection of R. Peter Munves, who was in the record business as well as an avid collector for over 50 years and has decided to part with his beloved collection. All albums are from the late 20’s to early 40’s, and many are original, 1st editions containing pristine pressings from the golden age of 78’s. This collection consists of a nearly complete run of RCA Victor Musical Masterpiece Albums and Columbia Masterworks Album Sets. Our listings are drawn from this extensive collection.
