Sheffield Lab Direct Disc Stereo 1980 Complete with inserts
I got this vinyl in the early 1980s and it blew everything else in my collection away in terms of sound quality. That was 1980 and in some ways the technology has vastly improved, but I cant say it is being used any better than this. The vocals were perfectly recorded because she sounds like she is actually in the same room on a good system (The piano quite a bit less so). For best realism I prefer an analog source and this is good enough to make the hair stand up on my back. I believe this was recorded in one sitting, per side, which adds to the performance in my opinion.
