Brian Eno 'Before And After Science / Here Come The Warm Jets' Polydor Polydor – 2683 082/2302 071 UK reissue 2 x Vinyl, LPs, released as part of the "Double Back The Special Value Original Album Series" in 1979.
This Double Back 2LP reissue features two post-Roxy Music titles from 1973 and 1977. Aside from the fact that this set featured two complete LPs, these are the same as originally issued. Package features the cover for "...Jets" on the front, and "Before and After..." on back. The back covers inside the gatefold and the front covers on the outside.
Both LPs appear to have been lightly played and are in great shape. They played through beautifully on my stereo - no stick or skip. They are housed in their original, gate-fold sleeve, which has some light ring-wear but is, otherwise, in good condition - no rips or writing. The spine is intact and legible. Here Come the Warm Jets is Brian Eno's debut solo studio album (mononymously credited as "Eno"), first released on Island Records on 8 February 1974. It was recorded and produced by Eno following his departure from Roxy Music, and blends glam and pop stylings with avant-garde approaches. The album features numerous guests, including several of Eno's former Roxy Music bandmates along with members of Hawkwind, Matching Mole, Pink Fairies, Sharks, Sweetfeed, and King Crimson. Eno employed unusual directions and production methods to coax unexpected results from the musicians. Here Come the Warm Jets peaked at number 26 on the United Kingdom album charts and number 151 on the US Billboard charts, receiving mostly positive reviews
'Before and After Science' is Brian Eno's fifth solo studio album, originally released by Polydor Records in December 1977 in the United Kingdom and by Island in the United States soon after. It was produced by Eno and Rhett Davies. The album marks Eno's last foray into rock music as a solo artist in the 1970s; nearly all of his following work instead showcases avant-garde and ambient music, which was hinted at predominantly on the second side of Before and After Science. It was Eno's second to chart in the United States. The song "King's Lead Hat" (the title of which is an anagram for Talking Heads, for whom Eno would later produce three albums) was remixed and released as a single, although it did not chart in the United Kingdom. Critical response to the album has remained positive, with several critics calling it one of Eno's best works.
