A landmark ambient album, these tracks take on new dimensions when played on a turntable. Lush soundscapes, transcendent droning and melodic meditation are in no short supply on Eno’s masterpiece. The record plays beautifully, minimal hiss on a new tracks, but no skipping or other defects.

The album art is a visual pun (“low profile”)—signifying Bowie’s mantra in 1976, having left the coke-fueled hellscape of LA for the remote and chilled confines of Berlin. Bowie created some of the more inventive, avant grade pop music of all time during this respite with the help of ambient visionary Eno and sobering-out Iggy Pop. The album is very gently used and plays perfectly. Listen up for the hands-of-god, ahead of its time drum sound on the record.
