'Way back in the 1960's, the late, great Brian Jones of the (late, great) Rolling Stones went to Morocco and recorded some fantastic festival music. I'm not sure if this predated the Beatles meeting Ravi Shankar and discovering the continent of India, but it seems a close timeline in my memory. I'm a fan of international music, and this one has ALWAYS been the best. I envision Brian and a few Western tourists standing around during this festival, hypnotized and awestruck (as I would be), so absorbed they never wanted the music to stop. Ol' Brian had an ear for that kind of thing, and whenever I hear this, I think of him and wonder what ELSE he might have turned up, had he stayed out of the Winnie the Pooh's pool. This vintage LP has been played a few times (by me, was purchased new several decades ago and in possession since), but still sounds good. Its gatefold album cover is in very nice condition, just a bit of wear from decades on a shelf and the occasional move, kept in a nonsmoking, coo, ligh-protected environment; best of all, the inner liner notes by Brion Gysin (often lost when one turns up old copies of this LP) are still present. Its numbers: Atco 49100. It's a piece of history that will never come our way again.; relics such as this are our only links to that past.
