PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IN THESE EBAY AUCTIONS I USE A STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE GRADING SYSTEM THAT CAN'T DISAPPOINT ANYONE BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT ,FOR EXAMPLE, A VG+ COVER OR A VG+ VINYL IT'S EQUIVALENT TO "BAD CONDITIONS" BUT SIMPLY THAT MY GRADE IT'S STRICT AND PROBABLY EQUIVALENT TO AN EX OF SOMEONE ELSE WITH NOT A SO STRICT GRADE. I HAVE SOLD IN THESE AUCTIONS EX- RECORDS THAT WERE SURELLY M- COPIES BUT I PREFERE TO BE STRICT TO AVOID ANY DISAPPOINTEMENT BECAUSE I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY REPUTATION.
graded VG++/EX- for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: Black label with light blue writing original pressed in 1966 in very nice shape 1 spindle mark only nothing else. Not for sale sticker on side 1.
cover: the cover does have a couple of light creases on the upper front side but the rest of the laminated flipack side it's in excellent conditions except a small red pen writing in the upper back flap so a strong VG++ to my eyes.
vinyl:The vinyl does not have marks or scuffs but I grade it EX- to be safe.
review: Alice in Jazzland is my favourite Tracey album. It's a big band album from 1966 that has excellent writing from Tracey. A variety of strong soloists appear including Bobby Wellins and Kenny Baker along with brief appearances from Tubby Hayes and a young Kenny Wheeler. The standout track for me has to be the wonderfully manic 'murdering the time' - the title sums it up perfectly. I would definately agree with the liner notes that state that the album is probably the best British big band album - it could certainly give a lot of American big band albums a run for their money as well. ...don't miss!
