On 4th November, we held a charity fundraising 60's & Northern Soul night for Parkinson's UKand our friend, Ian Punter, who is suffering with it.
We raised over£2,000, but our charity auction of 9 fabulous donated items couldn't go aheadon the night, so we are listing them on ebay instead, with the proceeds split50:50 between Parkinson's UK and Ian's family.
LOT 8 ) - British Mod Sounds Volume 2: TheFreakbeat & Psych Years
Acid Jazz Records and Modcast founder Eddie Piller hascurated a second volume to British Mod Sounds of The 1960s compilation.
Volume 2 - The Freakbeat & Psych Years traces ‘whatMods did next’ from early 1965 to the end of the 1960s and Eddie hasvery kindly donated a copy of the signed, limited edition 6 x LP box set for usto auction.
This 91 track compilation traces the development ofthe original Mod mainstays (the Small Faces, The Who, The Action, The Kinks),with a selection of future superstars (David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Fleetwood Mac,Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Steve Howe of Yes are all represented here),alongside a few artists so obscure, that they never even got to release arecord in the ’60s (but Eddie has tracked down the tapes nonetheless!)
This would make an equally fantastic present toyour sweetheart or yourself!
