Absolutely fantastic and spiritual afro-centric vocal jazz from an ex-member of Sun Ra's Arkestra. Fantastic tribal-esque drumming and soulful vocals are easily my two biggest weaknesses in terms of jazz, and this LP has it in spades - not only that, but all manner of odd and exotic instrumentation that is bowed, plucked and blown, especially on the shimmering and hypnotic centrepiece "Celestial Strings". Who doesn't love Koto and Sitar in Jazz. This is definitely a must for those who favor the more bizarre and spiritual side of jazz, and definitely for any Sun Ra fanatics as well.
