Bruce Springsteen - Fire - Rare Double "Fire Wax" Colored Vinyl LP w/CD backup copy. Cover - VG Vinyl VG++
Very rare Bruce Springsteen "underground" release from (I believe) 1978. Includes Live recordings of "The Fever", "Point Blank", "Because The Night", "Mona"/"She's The One"/"I'm Mad", "Fire", "Candy's Room", "Badlands", "Streets Of Fire", "The Promised Land", "Ties That Bind", "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town".
The plain white cover, stamped "Fire Wax" is in VG condition showing some water stains. The folder outer photo/track listing shows some wear but is intact. The vinyl visually grades VG++ showing a few tiny marks. There are no warps on either LP. They do play with some clicks and pops in the quieter spots. Please note this is not an audiophile recording and the sound quality is not up to those standards. The records have been VPI cleaned and re-sleeved.
Visually, Sides 2, 3 and 4 look perfect. Side 1 has a few hairlines - certainly nothing feelable. It has a small scuff at the beginning of the side that causes a repeating tic for about the first 30 seconds or so. There are no skips throughout. This visual inspection was done under VERY bright light and at various angles, and using a VPI Classic turntable with a AT150MLX cartridge to audition the sound.
Many of these "underground" releases were sourced from vinyl records to begin with and any clicks and pops that were in that source would get passed on to subsequent pressings. My guess is that's the case here. Again, this is by no means an audiophile recording, but more of a collector's item. If you are looking for a full-fidelity live Bruce recording, this probably isn't something you'd like.
With the LP I will include a free CD backup copy with a mini-LP replica sleeve as pictured above. For the CD I recorded the LP and noticed that there was little or no difference between the left and right channels so for the CD I combined the two, making it mono. I also filtered the clicks and pops and I thought the result was a big improvement overall. Please note this is a homemade CDR, not a factory-pressed silver CD. Included as a backup copy for free.
Shipping is FREE in the Continental US. For areas outside of the US, actual postage rates will apply.
Grading is cover/vinyl. I am an experienced record collector and I try to grade very accurately and conservatively. Nothing I sell is trash no matter what the grade.
Please note that I have revised this item and I won't be accepting returns unless my description is GROSSLY inaccurate.
(S) Original, Factory-Sealed item
(M) I don’t use this, if it’s not sealed it’s not Mint.
(NM) Pretty much perfect vinyl possibly one or two hairlines that will not effect play
(VG+) Good player copy, there are some hairlines and possibly some clicks and pops during play, but certainly no skipping.
(VG) Still a good player copy, if you don’t mind some surface noise in quieter spots. Again - no skips
(VG-) Will play through without skipping, but there will be surface noise.
(G) Good for filling a hole in your collection until a better one comes along. It even may have one or two skips. Any more than that and I won’t sell it.
I am happy to answer any questions at all!
