Description
Anton Bruckner Symphony No. 8 with Hans Knappertsbusch conducting the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra on Westminster WST 235. This early Stereo 2 LP set was recorded in Munich, January 1963. Visually, Sides 1, 2 & 3 are clean without scratches. Side 4 has a few superficial scratches (see example last photo). I’ve test played both LPs on a quality turntable and although there is some surface noise, I feel the LPs are very listenable and have good fidelity. The most noticeable surface noise is during the first few minutes of Side-1 but it’s moderate, not excessive. The other places I sampled on the two records had more minimal surface noise or it was not noticeable in some portions. The record jacket is in very clean condition, is shinny and is not scratched. A small star was made in black ink on the lefthand side of the inner gatefold. The corners at the fold have a little wear (see photos). The inner sleeves do not have any “rub-through” at the edges. The record will be shipped in an oversized, well packed box.
I’ve attempted to provide a reasonable evaluation of the LPs; however, the 2 LP set is for sale AS-IS.
