Description
A terrific live album by Buck Owens and his Buckaroos at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Buck Owens was only the 2nd Country artist to perform there at that time. It was a hugely successful gig and the musicianship and magic of that evening is captured on this timeless record. Originally released by Capitol Records in the U.S in the winter of 1966, the Japanese version (CP - 8064) was released a couple of months later. As was the case for the majority of Japanese releases during the 1960s, the very first pressings were on red vinyl. Unfortunately, most copies on this prized red wax are usually found in terrible condition.....unbearable surface noise, scratches, numerous pops and ticks etc. The copy offered here is most definitely the exception. It is so clean that some can even make a case that it is unplayed. Barely any background noise is heard(even between the tracks!)....the music comes over loud and clear and without any distortion whatsoever. Even with the Obi missing, one can still make a solid case that it's the best example you're ever likely to find.
Cover: Near Mint.....corners are sharp....colors are still vivid under the lamination...spine is perfect....a truly exceptional example.
Original Inner-Sleeve: Near Mint(minus) .....incredibly rare to find the original inner-sleeve with this Lp. They are usually missing and when included are almost always in tatters. This one is near-perfect with the only flaw being an almost imperceptible 1cm seam split at the bottom edge (easily repairable)
Original Lyric Insert: Near Mint....superb condition with just some yellowing due to age and a few faint traces of foxing.
Record: Near Mint ~ Mint.....simply beyond belief.....rare enough to be found on red vinyl ...but to be also found in this kind of condition is almost a small miracle. Both labels are without blemish.....and even angled under strong light, the surfaces of both sides reveal nothing but gloss and a beautiful red glow. Outstanding audio from start to finish. This is the only copy of this record you will ever need. Period.
