Note: This is still part of the same estate collection that I have been selling for the past month or so. Most of the vinyl has been taken very good care of. The covers were not stored in plastic protectors so most have some light to moderate discoloration. I will list any problems that I see in the description.  There are quite a few box sets in this series of auctions. The original owner had written in ink on most of them of when and where he had purchased them. It is usually a small sentence that does not cover any print. If album or box set has any writing, I will list in description. I am using the shipping calculator on the box sets for international shipping because the weights vary so much. Content : The Complete String Quartets Of Ludwig Von Beethoven, Recorded in the Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Auditorium of The Library of Congress on the Stradivari instruments of the Gertrude Clarke Whittall Foundation ( 3 Box Sets, 12 LP's Total )

Condition : Record # 4576, VG/VG+ Records # 4577 thru 4587, VG+ /  Cover VG+

Notes :  Records have some light  scratches and scuffs. Record # 4576 has 2 short 1/4" feelable scratches. The rest are non feelable light scratches. Has some spots on vinyl that look kind of like water spots on a glass but will not just wipe off with a damp cloth. Does not change the sound but are visable when held under light. A groove cleaning would probably help these. Has a few light ticks and static here and there. Record #'s 4576, 4577, 4583, 4585, 4586, and 4587 have Long Playing at bottom of label, The others have Long Playing Microgroove at bottom of label.   Boxes are oversize type with dowel type hinge holding record sleeves. SL-172 (3 LP) box has some discoloration on inner lids and outside with 3 of the 4 corners of the lid split. Has Hi Fi sticker on front right lower. SL-173 (4 LP) box has some discoloration on inside and outside with light corner wear. First inner sleeve has writing in ink at top right and hinge on sleeve is starting to detach a little at bottom. Looks like the same sticker might have been attached to the front of this box but has fallen off over time. SL-174 (5 LP) box has some discoloration on inside and outside with light corner wear. Also has writing on inner sleeve. Writing is of the place and year they were purchased which was 1954.  If you have any specific questions just email me. Grading Standards (45's and LP's)

Mint: Absolutely perfect in every way ( I probably will never use this grade)

Near Mint (NM) : No Obvious signs of wear on record or label

Near Mint - (NM-) : Almost Near Mint with some minor scuffs (paper scratches) or minor label flaw

Very Good + (VG+) : Record will show signs that it was played and taken care of. Scuffs or light scratches are common but not very pronounced with maybe slight surface noise.Label may have minor writing or tiny sticker attached.

Very Good (VG) : Visible scratches are more pronounced and surface noise will be evident upon playing.Groove wear will start to be noticable, as will light scratches(deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Label may be marred by writing or have stickers attached.

Good (G) : Record will play through without skipping, but will have significant surface noise and scratches. Labels may be marred, torn, and/or have stickers attached. Use as a filler for your collection until a better copy comes along.

Fair (F) Poor (P) : The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. I won't list this grade unless record is very rare and hard to find.

Grading Standards (78 RPM)

N : As new and unplayed ( I probably will never use this grade)

N- : Nearly mint, But has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage

E+ : Plays like new with few signs of wear

E : Still very shiny, with a few scuffs and scratches

V+ : Average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Surface noise is not overly pronounced

V : Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.

V- : Quite playable still, But distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Surface noise and scratches below music level.

G : Record is worn and scratched, But music level is higher than surface noise

F : Most of music remains audible over surface noise, But listening now uncomfortable.

P : Unplayable. I won't list this grade unless record is rare and hard to find

I am not a record expert and I try to grade records to the best of my ability using the Goldmine price guide's standards and VJM's grading system on 78's but my opinion of condition may differ from someone else's opinion. Since I list so many records I cannot play them all so grading is visual but you may buy with confidence because I offer a complete refund if the record is not as described in my listing. I can combine shipping to save shipping costs.
