Description
FOR AUCTION IS "The Complete Verve Recordings of The Buddy De Franco Quartet/Quintet with Sonny Clark" MR5-117 Mosaic Box Set --5 LPs and the booklet are in Mint Condition, and the Box is in E+ Condition because box lacks that crispness that best described as Mint, but there are NO TEARS, NO WRITING, NO SPLIT SEAMS, NO DENTS or any other kind of damage or wear. Please give me input if you have any suggestions on making the layouts on my auctions better and if you need more photos ask and I will try to e-mail you what you are looking to find. If any damage or wear exists on any portion of the box set I am listing, I will write it in the description. The music in this Rare out-of-print box set has one magical element that absolutely guarantees the music to be among the best of it's kind ever performed. I am in fact a fan of Buddy De Franco, and own a lot of his records, so no slight intended to him, but the reality is that when Sonny Clark is present look out that session is going to take off and never come down until sometime well after the music has actually stopped. There is hardly any unissued material on these fabulous sounding LP's, and for my money I would say that is because the music and the musicians made music that was hot from start to finish every time they played a tune, so the folks in the recording booth just let them play and put it on wax everything from the session or at least that what I would have done if I had been lucky enough to be in the studio at that time. I would have probably been so mesmerized that I would have had to have been nudged and reminded the music stopped and to turn off the recording equipment.
Hello again, I am finally returned to eBay after several years hiatus. I don't know if any of the observers to this posting remember me but I have been a collector of Jazz music for over 28 years now. When I sold my extra copies on eBay previously I used to get more money for my records than anyone, because all of my sales came with a 100% guarantee on the accuracy of my grading and description, which meant that I never argued about the return of any records that I sold if they were found not be described accurately. I also had a reputation of not selling anything less than an occasional EX - grade and almost all of my records are Mint or Mint -.
Now I am posting some of my Mosaic duplicates because I just purchased a large collection and I have to make room on my shelves. All of the sets that I will be posting are either Mint or sealed cds, and unless otherwise stated the boxes, jewel cases, inserts and booklet are mint as well. If the cds are still sealed I will let you know in this description , and if there is any damage or wear of any kind I will also give you a complete and accurate description. Just to be clear when I say the booklet inside is mint, I mean that it is as white as when it was brand new, and even has the same stiffness and feel of paper that has never been handled. Of course it goes without saying all of these sets have been stored properly in a smoke free environment that is not near any heat source or any dampness. If you want to find anything wrong with these sets, you will have to get out your microscopes or send them to the forensic labs, but then they are in other hands so I would not suggest it.
I don't think I have to get to involved describing Mosaics reputation for making excellent reproductions on the sound quality. You are getting what you pay for as well as the always extra material which is previously unissued as well as the always fantastic photos, and background information for each recording session. These sets are among the most desirable and sought after sources of this music so win each one and enjoy it for many years.
On a final note I am now adding a surcharge of $3.00 for shipping and handling to cover the actual shipping charges + materials and not for handling or my time. I will notify each winner separately as to the final shipping cost, ***PLEASE WAIT FOR MY INVOICE BEFORE YOU SEND PAYMENT*** as I do not know all of the details as to how you want your winnings sent and their is always at least 3 options. I am not certain why eBay now makes me list a shipping charge so please disregard the cost you see and I will e-mail you the final price. I have begun to figure out how calculate out the weight in advance and I should be pretty close to correct now in the posting the approximate costs, however to repeat if I am high or you send me too much money I will refund you any amount you may have over paid before your winnings are shipped, as several of you have already noticed. I will include delivery confirmation, it is worth the extra 70 cents believe me. I have shipped records: 12", 10", 45's, and 78's all over the world so I know how to package your gems so they arrive in the same condition they left my shelf which understandably a major issue with us collectors. To win something and have it arrived destroyed because of poor packaging in painful. Unfortunately I will have to add California sales tax if I am shipping your winnings to an address in California. If you have any questions feel free to please either e-mail me or skype me, if I am home I will answer any and all questions as long as I have the time before my auctions close. Basically I am a collector like you and I try to treat you as I want to be treated myself. GOOD LUCK TO ALL, I HOPE TO MAKE US BOTH VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!
