This is Buddy Holly in his early days (his first single); raw and innovative rockabilly, the precursor to his Tex-Mex rock n' roll sound.

Recorded in January 1956 in a barn in Nashville (under the name Buddy Holly & The Two Tunes; the Two Tunes being Sony Curtis & Don Guess) for Decca and released in the USA on the Decca label on 16 April 1956  (later released in the UK on Brunswick).

This is on Decca 9-29854 and has hand-etched numbers in the trail-offs;45 89283 and 45 89280. NOTE: I'm led to believe that this is a "bootleg" issue because the trail-off numbers are hand-etched rather than stamped.

The labels are excellent and unmarked. The vinyl has full gloss with only a few very slight surface scratches. The record is in excellent ++ condition. Whether this is original or "bootleg", I cannot be sure. What makes me think it may be a very good "bootleg" is that the trail-off/run-out band is quite narrow, as well as the information supplied to me about the trail-off numbers. That said, "bootlegs" have their own rarity value and collectability, and this is a genuinely rare and collectable item - a tremendous addition to any rockabilly collection.  It has an original Decca Records paper sleeve.
