It is in excellent shape, no warpage some slight scuffs & light scratches.
There is a sticker residue & light pencil marking label on A Side Stay Close To Me
It is a commercial copy, the dead wax numbers on "Stay Close To Me" are machine stamped 45 106309 1 then if you turn the 45 half way there is a 1 machine stamped. The Matrix on the "Don't Cha Know" side are 45 106310 2 then again when you turn the 45 half way there is another 1 in machine stamped.
Label on B Side Don't Cha Know Is Clean
The 45 comes in an acid free white sleeve with plastic cover sealed.

A Little History Behind this 45
Buddy Holly plays guitar on this record
and wrote "Stay close to me" for Lou to help him get his carrer off the ground. Phil Everly wrote "Don't Cha Know"
I can tell you that this is the rarest Buddy Holly 45 out there. If you are collecting 50's, Buddy Holly or Rock and Roll 45s don't miss out on your chance to get this gem. I have only seen it one time in my 40 years of collecting and here it is.On a scale of rarity I would put it around a Flamingos on Chance Red Wax in VG+ shape or a medium valued Shrine 45.Elvis Presley was a good friend of Buddy Holly.A lot of bands ,like the Beatles admired him.For the collectors reference this 45 is considered to be Buddy Hollys rarest release. Recorded September 30th 1958, this was one of the last recordings Buddy would do before the fatal plane crash that came to be know as the day the music died (American Pie) reference. During the week of September 30th ,1958 Buddy Holly and Phil Everly stayed at The Hotel Wolcott in New York City while a Lou Giordano recording session took place at the Beltone Studio
[Beltone Recording Corporation, 4 West 31st Street, New York City]. Buddy Holly
and Phil Everly co-produced the session. The two songs recorded were "Stay Close To Me" and "Don't Cha Know". Buddy played guitar on both songs. Both Phil and Buddy came together for Lou to help get his recording career off the ground. For Lou,the 45 saw very little air play and became an obscurity and never got off the ground. From talking with other collectors & Dj's,The song broke in two places but mind you it was only a two week period that any action happend on the 45.Ads did surface in the trade magazines for one run but i do now know to which magazine they were at this point.Wisconsin saw a little action and Washington D.C. played the 45 for a bit. I use to have a reel to reel tape of the actual broadcast from Washington of this song but it has now since been lost. If I remember correctly WDON and WEAM played the 45 but no action came. Canada saw some action on the 45 in Toronto and Windsor and so a canadian stock copy release does exsist of this record. Around 1971 repros were made of this 45 in a yellow promo copy which can still be found but not easy. More promo copys were made than the stock commercial copy when the 45 was released Lou tried another angle by changing his name to Lou Jordan
