Description
The tragic story of Buddy holly is known by all followers of early rock and roll days. Buddy Holly was born, Charles Hardin Holley, in Lubbock Texas in 1936 and died tragically young in a plane crash in Iowa on February 3rd 1959 when flying between concerts. The other pop stars killed in the crash were The Big Bopper and Richie Valens.
Buddy first made it big with the Crickets in the Autumn of 1957 with "That'll be the Day". He released numerous chart hits with the Crickets and also as a solo artist under his own name of Buddy Holly. Peggy Sue was his first solo hit in the UK in December 1957.
This Extended Play album of 4 tracks are recordings from his earlier days in 1956 and 1957 before he became well known. They were released on the Brunswick label in 1958 after he became a world wide pop superstar.
The 4 tracks are "You are my one desire", "Blue Days, - Black nights", "Modern Don Juan" and "Ting-a-ling". They are more "Country" and "R & B" than rock and roll but brilliantly capture the early style of Buddy Holly.
It is a very rare record and will grace the collection of any serious collector of Buddy Holly records.
The EP is in good condition and has hardly been played over the last 30 or 40 years. A great record from 66 years ago.
