Budweiser radio ads on acetate- rare,1 of a kind, minty.Universal, Chicago label
This is a very rare and unusual find. It's a heavy vinyl LP with 12 ads, targeted for radio, probably from the 1950's. The ads are sung by a mixed gender vocal group with combo instrumental backing. Piano, drums, alto sax and voice over. Some cuts have a larger ensemble with big band arrangements. Play sticks between most cuts, this seems to be by intention. 1st cut on both sides plays with a little background noise, then play improves by the 2nd cut. They play a bunch of different grooves, swing, cocktail, Latin, quite a variety of Budweiser ads. Vinyl is glossy, appears to have been played very little.
Label has Universal labels, address in Chicago included, and catalog number U-3570 typewritten. Side 2 has additional info: Produced by D'Arcy Advertising St.Louis Missouri. Both side has typewritten: Budweiser Beer Radio Anncts.
This comes in a audiodiscs sleeve.
There was another acetate in the group that this came from. It's a 1 sided 12" .The label just says "Jam session". It sounds to me like a small group from the Ellington band, makes me wonder if this group could be the same. I have listed the other record today (April 28), so check my other listings. These are both rare finds, never to be seen again.
